Test your color acuity!

I was spending time on the computer again (way too much time) but found this neat color acuity test.  Try it and see what your score is   http://www.colormunki.com/game/huetest_kiosk

I took it twice and both times had the same score.

Check out the new Pantone color of the year on thequiltshow.com

On another note just wanted to make sure everyone received the message about the charm squares for the January Meeting/Party.  You can get 12 charms from each fat quarter so if you are cutting from different fabrics you will only need 12 charms.  Obviously I am mathematically challenged thinking you could get 15 LOL

On another note I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and an even better New Year with lots of UFOs getting finished!

December 7, 2017 Crocus Quilter's Guild Show & Tell

Reneta created another stunning scrap buster quilt.

This will grace a lucky someone's Christmas tree soon as Reneta adds the final touches.

This is a favorite pattern of Reneta's, she has made a few in different colors.

I don't know where she finds the time.  Reneta is involved in many online swaps and this photo and the next 4 are some of the great pieces she has received in exchange.  The little basket she shows off is filled with more pieces, too many to pull out.

Great minds think alike, Reneta and her quilting friend Amy made each other this same quilt, totally unaware of what each other were making for an exchange.  If you look back at last months post, you'll see the one Amy received.

Beth has been busy making quilts, baskets, potholders & placemats.

Dawn created this beautiful quilt while relaxing at her cabin.

This panel quilt was quilted for a friends newly born granddaughter.  It has a great new silky minky type backing.

Stephanie has the quilting bug.  She said her first quilt took 4 years, this one about a month. Way to go! Well done.

Brenda will be gifting a luck friend this huge and very detailed quilt for Christmas.

Kristin shows off her soon to be finished first quilt for her soon to be born baby.  She thanked many guild members for all their help.

Ernestine made this cute Christmas stocking and the lap quilt below, which she said did not start out as this pattern.

Lori made a set of 4 new cushion covers to adorn her comfy couch.

Cindy showed off 3 different flannel rag quilts she has made and told us of her many challenges with backing fabric.

Shalane is a new quilter, but WOW look at this row by row quilt, and it's her first quilt.  This summer she traveled to about 15 different quilt stores to purchase the row by row kits and chose her favorites to complete this beauty.  She won a prize at Morden's quilt shop for bringing in her finished quilt.

Nina  showed off this big quilt which she says is a gift for her sister's 25th to 30th Anniversary. She utilized left over pieces on the back when she discovered the backing fabric wasn't wide enough.

Show & Tell - November 2017

We have over 30 people in attendance tonight and we are now officially 51 members strong!  I only had my ipad to take pictures with tonight, so I apologize for the poor quality pictures.

Bev pieced and Paula quilted this quilt for our guild's Comfort Quilt project.

Cindy completed two of these tops and one has already be given away as a comfort quilt.

You missed a great story tonight as Gloria shared this quilt that here mother-in-law started and she completed.

Gail's One Block Wonder that she quilted herself on the rental machine at Fabriculous.  This picture does not do it justice!

Jennie also quilted on the rental machine at Fabriculous and completed this for a special baby.

Jackie quilted this on her domestic machine - a gift for a two year old granddaughter.

Reneta's Amaze Me quilt - BLURRY photo , its me not you!

And Reneta's all flannel version of the "Legendary" quilt pattern.

And made by Reneta for Amy in a recent swap.  Couldn't be more perfect!

October 5, 2017 Guild meeting - Show & Tell

This bright quilt was a collaborative effort from all members. A number of months ago we had a demo on the propeller block and this is the blocks put together. Karen quilted it and it will be donated to someone through our comfort quilt project.

This is Karen's modern dresden quilt with Tula Pink backing.

Gloria finished a few small projects her Mom had started some time ago.

Look at this beauty!  Brenda did this stack n' whack at a workshop awhile ago. Great colors and design. She quilted it on her own longarm machine.

Gail showed off her star swap piece she received at the June swap reveal. Her mystery quilter was Cindy Hamilton.

Stephanie shared this denim quilt made in the memory of her son.
This a cute wall hanging Stephanie was gifted, hangs in her laundry room.

Cindy's star swap piece was made by Brenda Pockett.

Cute and bright and great use of some pretty backing fabric that had graced Cindy's shelves for many years.

Another demo block quilt top. A version of eye spy. A few borders, sandwich and quilt it and we have another cute quilt for a lucky recipient.

A swap fell thru :(  so Amy put all her blocks in one basket - I mean quilt.
I think it's a keeper.
The backing is another color of Tula Pink's line.

Disappearing scrappy log cabin.  Really nice colors.

This unicorn swap mini sparkles up close with bead embellishments. It's outstanding.

Swap partners know Reneta really dislikes zippers, so she often is a lucky girl getting cute bags as a extra swap gift.

Trick or treat! this little mini is on its way to a happy quilter.

Pineapples Delight!  Reneta is not giving this one away, it's a favorite.  Up close it is immaculately free hand quilted
by Night Owl Quilting (Lori Suss)

And this is the back.  Her smile says it all!
