I just received an email from a Canadian Fabric Store that is offering free shipping until June 30th.
The store is called Sew Sisters and you can find their website here. I have ordered from them a few times in the past and have had no complaints. Enjoy!

June Meeting Highlights
Sorry I was a little slow in getting this posted. But better late than never right? Our last guild meeting before summer break was held on June 7th and here are some of the highlights in case you weren't there.
The evening started off wonderfully for me. I received my $25 cheque that was part of the prize for winning the challenge last month. In all the excitement it was overlooked, so thanks to the guild for that pleasant surprise!
The blue and white nine patch charity quilt is going to be donated to the St Paul's Ladies Auxiliary as they are fundraising for new furniture for their waiting room. Now we just need to get it finished so that we can donate it to them!
A summer UFO day is tentatively scheduled foe July 21st. We will need to find an alternate location as the WAC will be under renovations then. Check back for more info when it becomes available.
A big thank you to Genny Carriere for the years she served as secretary for the guild. Your attention to detail did not go unnoticed! Welcome to Sherry Kehler as our new secretary. Dawn, Gloria and Nina have decided to stay on executive for another year. We may be looking for additional executive members in the fall.
There is a "Quilting in the Quiet" retreat being held Aug 24-26 at Wellman Lake Bible Camp. More information can be found here. Many of the ladies we familiar with the teachers and had only praise for them, so it may be something you want to consider.
We decided to order this quilt kit to use for a raffle quilt for a guild fundraiser. The group seemed to think the colors were pleasing. More info on how we assemble once we have a good look at the pattern. We found it here.
Our new comfort block for the summer months is this very cute ice cream cone. It is paper pieced so if you need the pattern you will need to contact me and I would be happy to get one to you. It is a great way to give paper piecing a try and see if you like it or not.
I also gave out fabric requirements for a the "Double Trouble" mystery quilt that will be offered to guild members starting in January 2013. This is an original mystery that was written by Lori Suss (Crocus Quilt Guild) and Kathy Schwartz (North Star Quilt Guild, Flin Flon). It will be offered free to members of both guilds. You have lots of time to shop for your fabric. If you need more info I am just an email away.
And now on to every body's favorite part - Show and Tell. Now I have to be honest, I was so interested in the items being shown, that I forgot to take some pictures! (Thanks to Sandra who snapped me back to reality so I didn't miss the whole thing!)
Marion showed a beautiful quilts with fussy cut bird squares. It was from the Kick Ass Country store Take Two Quilt pattern. You can find it here. I don't have a picture of the finished product, but this was from the UFO day when she was working on it.
Bev shared her Dresden plate. It is a grad gift, and the center circles are velvet from her niece's first Christmas dress. She used the Fun and Done technique from are January workshop along with some others she has picked up along the way. So cheerful, I'm sure it will be a big hit with your grad!
Barb shared her first quilt with us. It is a beautiful landscape she created from a picture. AMAZING! If this is her first quilt, I can't wait to see her second!
Winnie also had a first quilt. Hand quilted and huge! This picture does not do it justice. Beautiful work!
Winne also shared an absolute treasure with us. It was a crazy quilt top that dates back to at least 1912 as an embroidered date shows. It is unfinished, but was her great grandparents. We all thought it could be in a museum if she were willing to part with it.
Dawn shared a number of quilts. The first is her original design "She Dances". This beautiful piece won viewer's choice at the Juried Art show and willing be hanging in a Winnipeg Gallery in September. Congratulations Dawn!
This Rapid Fire Hunter Star was made a retreat.
Dawn is keeping this happy floral for herself.
This a a really neat tea cozy that Sherry made with a really rich oriental fabric.
Sorry if I missed anything. Happy quilting!

It's meeting week!
Just a quick reminder that this Thursday, June 7th is our last regular guild meeting before summer break. We will be filling any open executive positions. If you are up to the role of secretary, please give it some thought and let one of the executive know on Thursday.
We will also be handing out the pattern for a new comfort block for you to work on over the summer months.
Please bring your show and tell. I might not have much to show, but I do have something to tell....!
Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday.
