First a bit of business, the UFO Day that was scheduled for this Saturday April 13, has been CANCELLED due to lack of committed attendance. We hope for a better turn out next time.
If you weren't at the meeting last night you missed some great show and tell. Here are the highlights. Sorry if I missed anyone - sometimes I am too busy looking and forget to snap a picture! I wish the quality of the pictures was better, but the lighting is the Old Fire Hall makes this tricky!
Marion was the lucky winner of the Disappearing 4 patch blocks. This was our last comfort block until after the quilt show in the fall.
This is Karen's rail fence/pinwheel combo. I don't have the exact pattern name, but it sure is effective.
And Karen was busy using up some bright scraps. Check out her gorgeous meandering feathers that were quilted all over this one.
This is Sandra's quilt that was done as a mystery project in Flin Flon a couple of years ago. Her modern fabrics are much more vibrant than this picture shows.
This is Pat's unique table runner that she made in a class down south when we were freezing up here. We think she should teach a class up here for us! I think I found the pattern is this
book.
And she is ever stylish in a very cool batik scarf.
Karen made this cheerful table topper.
Jackie and her cool grommet bag.
Sherry took a silk screening class and made this table runner. The colors were so rich in person!
Don't forget your challenges are due next month. Those packages sure sold fast in the fall, I hope we see lots of projects next month. Don't forget to bring the new to you pattern/tool you used and to tell us a little a little about the story behind your project.
The final step of the mystery will be revealed as well. Can't wait for the May meeting. Happy quilting.
