Our next guild meeting is happening Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 7:00 pm in the Old Firehall at the Watson Art Centre.
Things to remember:
Black and White "Night and Day Scrappy Brick Blocks"
If you have made some blocks we would sure appreciate if you could bring them with you on Thursday. We are hoping to get a plan together as soon as possible for the Band Program Fundraising Quilt. If you need more info on this just give Lori a call at 5777.
Yard Sale
This will be the evening of our yard sale. If you wish to sell items they can be dropped off anytime after 5:00. (If possible try to bring them a little bit early to allow the organizers a chance to get set up.) Items must be priced and labeled with your personal seller number. Numbers were handed out at the last meeting, but will still be available. Karen P. and Bev P. are in charge of this endeavor so please ask them if you have any questions.
2014/2105 Challenge Kits
Kits will be available for purchase on Thursday for a cost of $10. You will have until May to complete your project. I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for us this year!
See you Thursday!

Retreat
8 Members of the Crocus Quilt Guild (Dauphin) enjoyed a fabulous retreat with members of the North Star Quilt Guild (Flin Flon) at Fabriculous in Swan River.
I forgot my camera, but my good friend Kathy took lots of great pictures, so check it all out here on her blog.
Wendy and George at Fabriculous were fabulous hosts, and here is a link to the latest Fabriculous Newsletter. There are lots of great classes being offered!
We had so much fun this weekend that we have booked a date for the spring! Can't wait!

September Show & Tell
Here are the items that were shared at our first meeting of the season. It was great to see more than 30 ladies out for the evening!
Dawn shared about her experience meeting the author of the book "Kristy's Quilt" - Brandy Maslowski of Brandy Lynn Designs and the Explore Fibre Blog.
Linda's batik quilt, quilted by Karen. (I can't remember the name of this pattern.)
Karen loved Linda's so much she decided to make one of her one. This was one of nine quilts Karen finished this summer for members of her children's wedding parties!
Bev's Star Fling quilt for her new grandson Joel. Her is a link to the Star Fling Pattern. The pattern uses fat quarters and comes highly recommenced by Bev and Lori as a good beginner project.
This is Karen's Quarter Sections baby quilt.
And Sherry's stunning wallhanging. Her quilting gave it a real bamboo effect.

Meeting this Week!
Our first meeting of the fall will happen this Thursday, September 4th at 7:00 p.m. at the Old Firehall. There will not be any sewing during the day this month.
Yearly memberships are due - $20 - A steal of a deal!
This is the last chance to join in for the retreat that is happening September 19, 20 and 21st. I do have a spot or two available! Please come prepared to pay the balance owing to Nina. Total cost is $125.
If you look over to the left side of the blog I have added a list of online CANADIAN fabric stores that I personally have had good experiences with, or have friends who use them. Many have very reasonable shipping options and things come quickly being in Canada with no duty surprises. (I can add others if given the information.)
I am looking for another member or two to help out with picture taking at the meeting and updating the blog. I will show you everything you need to know. I promise it is really easy. Let me know if you want to give it a try.
Please remember to bring anything you completed over the summer for Show and Tell.
See you Thursday!
