April Show and Tell

Here is a look at the show and tell from our April meeting.  I only had my phone available for pictures this time.  Enjoy the show.

Our visitor Kathy brought some show and tell too!

Trudy treated us to what was supposed to be a "mini" trunk show.  There was nothing mini about it.  I convinced her to let me take one photo, and you can see the pile of quilt tops behind her.  She was an inspiration  to everyone in the room - she can accomplish tonnes while working and have three little boys and a husband at home to take care of!

Our raffle quilt is complete and ticket books are available to member to sell.

Don't forget challenge reveal day is at our next meeting on May 5th! Is yours complete?  or does it still look like 3 fat quarters like mine???  Can't wait to see what everyone has created!

The Crocus Quilt Guild was asked to take part with a display to promote quilting in our community.

This could be fun!

For those of you ready to try something a little fun/challenging with you free motion quilting I came across this neat idea over at the Inbox Jaunt Blog. (http://theinboxjaunt.com/)

 Lori Kennedy quilts on a domestic machine and is very generous with tutorials.  She just announced her 2nd Annual Machine Quilt-a-Long Mystery Sampler.   The final project will be 16" x 21" in size so it doesn't require a huge investment in materials, but I think you stand to have a lot of fun and learn something new.  The first instructions are up and it will have a nautical theme, I hope some of you will check it out.

March Meeting & Mini Trunk Show

We had some really lovely Show and Tell at our February meeting!

Brenda complete her modified version of Alternate Routes.  Most people complain about how much piecing the original is, but Brenda did more piecing to break up what she felt was too much black for her.  It is awesome.

Cheri's cute Hazel Hedgehog quilt for her grandson.  All those little pieces were worth it!

Reneta's Fancy Fox quilt.  All the oranges and brown were from her stash.

Never one to let something go to waste - a pillow from the leftovers.

Sandra made a table runner and place mats from 6 fat quarters using this tutorial.

Sandra also finished her cat quilt.

Darlene made this darling quilt with vehicle fabric.

We were treated to a mini trunk show by Cheri.  This is first quilt she made for her daughter.

This log cabin had some 3-D folded sections.

This top was made years ago, but recently finished on a longarm rental at Fabriculous.  Awesome Cheri.  Thank for sharing.

February Show and Tell

I have updated all the dates and information I could along the sidebar of the blog.  Here is a great bunch of show and tell from our last meeting.  So nice to see so many complete projects from the recent Bargello workshop.  Sounds like it was a great day!

Brenda quilted this serious of three seasonal wall hangings for her daughter who did the wool applique.

Reneta and Amy made this quilt together.  It will be raffled off to raise funds for the Barker School Playground.

Genny quilted another of our guild's comfort quilts.  A great way to give back to the guild, and practice your quilting skills!
