Guild Project

Guild Member Lorraine brought a project suggestion to our membership,
which isn't totally quilting related, but a very excellent cause. All were in agreement.
She approached a service group in our community for funding and with the help of a few other
hardworking members has put the project into action.

Days for Girls International

Around the world, girls and women resort to using rags, mattress stuffing,
banana leaves, feathers, and even cow dung to manage their menstruation.
Days for Girls provides a safe, beautiful, washable, and long-lasting alternative —
along with vital health education.

February 7, 2019 was one of the days when members came together to
work on the products required for the packages.

Happy New Year! January 10, 2019 Guild meeting and Show & Tell

Sherri made a couple of rock candy table toppers.

Small quilt made using the hunter star ruler. Can't see it in the picture
but it has a cute snowman border.

Sometimes we share other fun crafts we've created, like this cute bunny made for a grandchild.

Dawn created this beautiful quilt depicting her grandmother, and below
finished up a table runner started long ago.

Gloria was doodling with some thread painting and turned her piece art into a pillow.

This pineapple block quilt was made with scrap from the guild closet and will be a donation quilt.

Reneta made this cute baby quilt from leftovers from another project from years ago.

Reneta's pictures are all beautiful quilted gifts she received from a birthday swap.

Lori was working on a new pattern and it didn't come together as she hoped, but it is darling quilt she donated it for the guild to use for a donation quilt.

Our guild chose to have a late Christmas Party and celebrate the new year as well.  We had fun doing a fat quarter exchange (which Cindy is getting us ready for) and a small quilted item gift exchange and ate many wonderful treats.

Stephanie repurposed some of her husbands shirts for this quilt top. Great job.

Reneta made this darling Dr. Suess Quarter Section quilt.

Cute kitty pillow was a swap gift.

Reneta's pumpkin patch quilt has some darling hidden quilting designs in it courtesy of Night Owl Quilting.

Amy shared some of her swap gifts, cute pillow and a reversible bag.

Gloria has worked long and hard on this this great spool quilt.
Done from start to finish by her own hand.

Karen did a great job on this  "Traction" quilt. a pattern by Highway 10 Designs.

Always need some handy bags.

The next four quilts are some of the ones finished for our large donation being handed out in December 2018.

This quilt was a guild project. Members donated 2" strips of batik fabrics
and we fashioned this quilt following designs of  Cathy Geier.
It ill be a donation to a local business in the near future.
