I thought you might enjoy this bit of inspiration.

A great tutorial for a "bear claw" quilting design.  Check out what Christina shares on her blog "A Few Scraps".  There is a video of her stitching the design out too.

2015 Challenge Results

Each year our guild has a little bit of a challenge.  We are given some fabric, in this case these three Fat Quarters, in October and asked to return a piece at out May meeting.  This year pieces were to be less than 100" in perimeter and contain at least two shapes.  It is always a lot of fun trying to guess who made which one before voting for viewer's choice.

And the viewer's choice goes to Brenda!  Brenda wins $25 cash and the "honor" of organizing next year's challenge.  All the pieces are currently on display at the Dauphin Library, so please head on over and check them out in person.

April Meeting Highlights

For those of you that were unable to attend April's meeting you missed quite a show.  Lots of show and tell and a mini trunk show.  Here is a taste.

 Beth completed her quillow and a baby quilt with a fun backing fabric.

Genny made a cute playmat for her grandsons.

Karen M. was busy making placemats and two quilts.

Here you can see a little bit a the quilting detail.

Brenda complete this Halloween themed wallhanging.  Lovely quilting, but we were all impressed with how she did the lettering with a black marker!!!

Gloria quilted one of our club quilts.  (I wish I had gotten a better photo that showed the quilting.)

Karen p.'s very floral Anita's Arrowhead. It would appear that if you put enough different florals together they start to cancel each other out.  A great quilt to use up some fabric that may no longer be your taste.

Karen also had this bright red and yellow one.  Very sunny!

Karen demonstrated our comfort block for this month.  The Square in a Square.

A now a peek at Gloria's mini trunk show.  She pulled some of her favorites to share with us.

This was one from early on in Gloria's quilting days.  Inspired by a project on a quilting TV show.  Lots of hand blanket stitches on that small piece.

Gloria loves paper piecing, but after timing how long it took her to make one of these pineapple blocks she decided against making this project bed sized!

And one of Gloria's all time favorites - can't you tell by the smile on her face!  Thanks for sharing with us, it was a wonderful show!
