February Show and Tell

I have updated all the dates and information I could along the sidebar of the blog.  Here is a great bunch of show and tell from our last meeting.  So nice to see so many complete projects from the recent Bargello workshop.  Sounds like it was a great day!

Dawn showing off her mom's "I Spy" quilt.

Brenda quilted this one of of guild's comfort quilts.

Brenda quilted this serious of three seasonal wall hangings for her daughter who did the wool applique.

Bev quilted one of the guild's comfort quilts.

Reneta and Amy made this quilt together.  It will be raffled off to raise funds for the Barker School Playground.

Genny quilted another of our guild's comfort quilts.  A great way to give back to the guild, and practice your quilting skills!

January Show and Tell

I thought it best I get this posted before our February meeting next week!

Gloria finished this runner from a workshop she took last year.

Joan's "Binding Tool Table Runner"  you can watch the Missouri Star Tutorial here.

Reneta and Amy took a Tuffet class at Fabriculous in Swan River.

This is Amy's "Katie's Quilt", another Missouri Star Tutorial you can see here,

And once again Amy has another finish - "Vintage" from the book Simply Retro by  Camille Roskelley.

Bargello Workshop

Brenda's completed center.
Dawn's completed center
Reneta's completed center
Beth's completed center

The girls working on their bargello quilts.  We had 10 ladies brave the COLD weather.  It was a very productive day as you can see by how many centers were finished.   Only a couple of borders left and then the quilting and binding for some of these girls.  The others were all close behind but I missed getting pictures of some of them.  Hopefully they will be shown at the next quilting day either in February or March as completed  projects.  I am looking forward to seeing them all.  It was so amazing to see how different they looked with the different fabric choices.  Special thank you to all the ladies that particpated and for being very kind about the typing errors in the instructions!

Happy New Year!

These wonderful Show and Tell pictures from our December meeting are long overdue.  December is such a busy time!  Of course now that I have left it so long I can't remember any pattern names, so you will just have to enjoy the photos.

Cindy's grommet bag is reversible.

Amy is hiding behind this Wonder Woman quilt.

Reminder that our Christmas gathering will happen on January 7.  There will be two exchanges - a fat 1/4 exchange (wrap in a brown paper bag) and a small quilted item, wrapped.  There will be a potluck lunch at the end of the evening - please bring snacks or dainties but only a small amount.

And don't forget to check out our library listing created by Sandra.  You can find it on another tab at the top of this page.  Scroll back up to access it.  Thank you Sandra!  What a lot of work you put into it!

Guild Meeting, November 2015

We had a great guild gathering on November 5 with 27 members attending our monthly meeting.

Show and tell started off with Reneta sharing these three great quilts.  She also wants to remind us to be very aware that rotary cutters are very sharp and caution should be used at all times.

Genny had lots of fun piecing this halloween beauty

Sandra knows how to make a birthday special with this sweet little piece.

Joan showed us how she put the string quilting demo we learned last month to work on this beautiful collection of place mats.

Halloween has come and gone but Karen's grandson will have this wicked Halloween quilt to cherish for a very long time.

How about this beautiful Urban Hoops runner that Karen made out of some beautiful Batik fabrics. The quilting is spectacular.

we all delighted in the Log Cabin quilt that Gloria shared with us.

Amy shared a "Super" quilt that she put together during the Fabriculous Retreat in September.

Be sure to register for the January 17, 2016 Bargello Workshop that Cindy will be instructing.
There will only be room for 12 so hurry fast to ensure you do not miss out on this awesome opportunity to learn a new quilting technique.  The cost is only $40/person.

Cindy and Brenda talked about their experience at the Ricky Tims Seminar they attended at the Peace Gardens in May.

Brenda presented a small project to show us how to make a "Sausage Roll" pillowcase.
