May 2, 2019 Guild Meeting and Annual Challenge Reveal

Hello,

This month is always exciting for our guild, each year we have a challenge presented to our members for those who want to participate.  This year 2018/19 our challenge was called "Panel Perfect"

This challenge will involve starting with a 'Panel'.  There are so many wonderful panels in the marketplace (or perhaps in your stash).  Some panels will not fit the size specifications of the challenge, but many contain four or more smaller blocks within the purchased panel.  It is perfectly okay to cut these apart and use only one (or more) of the blocks if that suits your plan for constructing your challenge.  (A fabric that you fussy cut motifs from, does not qualify as a panel).  Now it is your turn to embellish the chosen panel and make it special - whether through sashing, bordering with patchwork blocks, pairing  with alternate blocks or thread painting etc. - you do what you think will enhance your work, but staying with in the size restriction of 120".  Challenges will consist of three layers, quilted, bound and finished!

And here are the piece submitted!!!

These works of art will hang in the Dauphin Public Library for the months of May and June.

And the Views Choice Award goes to................

Shalane!!!

She won a small monetary award & she will have the pleasure of coming up with the next years challenge idea and guidelines.

We had a few people that had time to finish some other projects to show us as well.

March 7, 2019 Guild Meeting and Show & Tell

This beauty in blue will go into our guild donation quilts.

Pat worked hard on this cute piece. It will be a gift for her sister.

This is still a work in progress for Beth,
needs to be sandwiched and quilted.

Leanna is being hopeful that winter is over with this cute mug rug.

Leanna finished her stack and whack and
made a very unique back for it.

Shalane wasn't sure she liked this quilt when
she pieced the blocks,
but has now fell in love with it after it's quilted together.

That's Amy peeking out from the Star Wars quilt.

Amy let Night Owl Quilting have fun with a
free motion feather design on this beauty of a quilt.
Nice bright backing for it too.

Genny made this little snowball quilt for a baby gift
and saved all the half square triangles
and  put them together to make a neat table runner.

Lori completed this UFO and has generously donated
the quilt to use as a guild donation quilt.
